Exhaust Modifications
From simple resonator deletes to complete custom cat-back systems, understand your options for unlocking the perfect sound and performance.
Resonator Deletes
The factory resonator acts as an echo chamber designed to cancel out specific sound frequencies. Removing it is the most popular first step in exhaust tuning.
- Pros: Noticeable increase in volume, rawer engine tone, cost-effective.
- Cons: Can introduce cabin drone at motorway cruising speeds depending on the vehicle.
Back-Box Deletes
Replacing the rear silencer (referred to as a muffler in the USA) with a straight pipe. This drastically increases the volume of the exhaust and allows you to fit custom exhaust tips.
- Pros: Maximum sound increase, aggressive look with new tips, weight reduction.
- Cons: Potentially too loud for some daily drivers; requires careful fabrication to avoid looking like a cheap cut-and-shut.
The Cat-Back System
A Cat-Back exhaust replaces everything from the catalytic converter to the rear bumper. This is the sweet spot for enthusiasts looking for the perfect balance of performance and refined sound tuning.
By using wider diameter mandrel-bent or crush bent tubing and custom Keltec silencers, we eliminate the restrictive bottlenecks of the factory system. The result is better throttle response, a slight increase in horsepower, and a beautifully tuned exhaust note that screams when you want it to, but remains civil on the motorway (subject to application).
MOT & Emissions
Because a Cat-Back system leaves the factory catalytic converters intact, it does not affect your vehicle's emissions. This means it is entirely MOT compliant and legal for road use in the UK.
Downpipes
The downpipe — the section directly after the turbocharger or manifold — is one of the largest restrictions in a factory exhaust system. We manufacture custom downpipes that free up flow and can give you a genuine competitive advantage in motorsport applications.
Turbocharged vehicles usually see the best gains, with improved spool and throttle response alongside increased power.
Road Use
A downpipe that retains the factory emissions equipment is road legal. Any downpipe that removes or bypasses emissions devices is not road legal in the UK and is intended for off-road and motorsport use only.
Custom Exhaust Tips
The sound makes the statement, but the tips make the look. We stock and fabricate a huge range of exhaust tips to match your style, including custom bumper cutouts to suit your styling preferences.
